Hollenbeck Palms

Inside the Community That Keeps Growing

At Hollenbeck Palms, life continues to evolve while staying grounded in what makes our community feel familiar, welcoming, and strong. With recent renovations, a calendar full of resident-centered activities, and a culture rooted in connection, this is a place where people find meaningful ways to stay engaged and at ease.

A New Look with the Same Warmth

We recently completed several renovations to our residential campus. The changes include refreshed common areas, redesigned gathering spaces, and updated interiors throughout the community. These updates were made with care, preserving the charm that defines Hollenbeck while making spaces more functional and inviting.

Residents now enjoy brighter lounges, modernized activity rooms, and refreshed areas to relax, read, or spend time with friends and family. The result is a more comfortable and accessible experience across campus.

Activities That Match Resident Interests

At Hollenbeck, the activity calendar is shaped by the people who live here. Each week offers a variety of options that reflect the interests, talents, and curiosity of the community.

For those who enjoy creative outlets, there are watercolor and ceramics classes, writing workshops, flower arranging, and music programs like singing lessons and opera lectures. Technology workshops focused on iPad and iPhone use make it easy to stay connected with family and friends, and to learn new digital skills at a comfortable pace.

Residents looking to stay active can choose from Japanese folk dance, ballroom and line dancing, or guided meditation sessions. Others might prefer group games like Mahjong or Scrabble, catching a film with neighbors, or joining a small discussion group.

Whether trying something new or returning to a familiar interest, residents have the freedom to shape their own day in a way that feels meaningful and personal.

Music and Performances

Hollenbeck regularly welcomes artists and performers to share their work with the community. Over the years, residents have enjoyed performances by a range of visiting artists, including pianists Peggy Duquesnel, Fred Moyes, and Beth Sussman, and vocalist Matt Grey. Dr. Vatche Mankerian, of the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, has also performed on campus. Choirs and vocal groups, including the Ebel Choir and Yale’s all-female a cappella group Whim ‘n Rhythm, have brought energy and music into the shared spaces.

These concerts are a welcome part of life at Hollenbeck. They provide moments to gather with neighbors, appreciate live music, and talk with the performers afterward.

Meals, Mocktails, and Everyday Well-Being

Food and community go hand in hand at Hollenbeck. Shared meals offer a natural way to connect throughout the day. Residents might enjoy a conversation over lunch, gather for a themed dinner with friends, or try one of the mocktails served at special events.

Dining at Hollenbeck also reflects a commitment to both quality and flexibility. Residents are offered daily menus with fresh ingredients and made-to-order options. Meals are served restaurant-style by a dedicated dining staff that knows residents by name and often by preference. Whether enjoying a quiet breakfast or sitting down for a formal holiday celebration, the experience is shaped by care and consistency.

Well-being is supported through the daily structure of life at Hollenbeck. Residents have time and space for movement, creativity, learning, and rest—all within a routine that leaves room for choice. Each person is free to participate at their own pace, with the reassurance that connection and support are always nearby.

See Our Community Firsthand

Our community also finds purpose through giving back. Residents participate in intergenerational programs, holiday drives, and other community-focused projects that build connection outside campus walls. That involvement reflects something many residents care about: staying connected to the world beyond Hollenbeck.

We are proud to offer a place where residents feel supported, seen, and truly at home. To schedule a personal tour or learn more about life at Hollenbeck Palms, give us a call at 323.307.4505 or send an email to [email protected].
