Establishing a much needed “fourth level of care,” our soon to be constructed Memory Enhancement Center will provide an exceptional quality of life for our residents living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia. Studies show that environment plays a crucial role in caring for people living with memory loss. Although secure and safe living conditions are essential, the lack of a “feeling of home” often affects these residents’ behavior in a negative manner. Our state-of-the-art center will allow us to combine friendly conditions with security, creating a harmonious and comfortable living environment. The new center will also feature specifically designed layout to minimize confusion and special colors, textures and shapes to promote mental stimulation. Perhaps the most vital benefit of this center is that it will prevent couples from being separated from one another while living at Hollenbeck, particularly during a very difficult time when special care is crucial. Construction began in August of 2020 and is projected for completion by end of May 2021.
